TutorHive ("TutorHive", "we", "us", or "our") provides personalised online tuition for school students in India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you or your child interacts with us — through our website, enquiry forms, phone calls, or WhatsApp — and how we use, share, and protect that information.

By submitting an enquiry, booking a trial class, or messaging us on WhatsApp or phone, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

a. Information you provide to us

• Contact details: your name, phone number (including WhatsApp number), and email address.
• Enquiry / student information: whether you are a parent or student, the student's class/grade, board or curriculum (CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE, State Board, etc.), preferred subject, and any additional notes you share with us.
• Communications: messages you send us via WhatsApp, phone calls, email, or our website contact/booking forms.

b. Information collected automatically

• Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device information.
• How you found us (traffic source, referring website, ad click identifiers), used to understand which channels bring us enquiries.
• Usage data via Google Analytics and Google Ads (see Section 4).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To respond to your enquiry and schedule a free trial or paid class.
• To match your child with a suitable tutor based on class, board, and subject.
• To send updates, class reminders, scheduling confirmations, and progress notifications.
• To communicate with you over WhatsApp, phone, or email (see Section 3).
• To improve our website, offerings, and marketing based on aggregated usage trends.
• To comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or misuse.

3. WhatsApp & Phone Communications

We use the phone number you provide to contact you about your enquiry, share class timings, send reminders and notifications, and answer questions — including over WhatsApp. Messages sent via WhatsApp are subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy and terms in addition to this policy. You can ask us to stop contacting you on WhatsApp or by phone at any time by messaging us or emailing support@tutorhive.in, and we will honour that request going forward.

4. Third-Party Services

We share limited information with the following third parties, solely to operate and improve TutorHive:

• Google (Apps Script / Sheets): enquiry form submissions are recorded in a private Google Sheet so our team can follow up.
• Google Analytics & Google Ads: to understand website traffic and measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
• Meta / WhatsApp Business: to communicate with you over WhatsApp regarding your enquiry and classes.
• Zoom: to conduct live online classes.
• Cloud hosting providers (e.g. Render, and our database provider) that store enquiry and account data on our behalf.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Children's Privacy

TutorHive's services are designed for school students, many of whom are minors. Enquiry and booking information is provided to us by a parent or guardian, or with their consent. We use student-related information (class, subject, board, progress notes) only to deliver and improve tutoring services, and do not knowingly collect information directly from children without parental involvement.

6. Data Retention

We retain enquiry and account information for as long as needed to provide our services, respond to your enquiry, and meet legal or accounting requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage, restricted access to our systems, and secure hosting. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

You may contact us to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, or to opt out of WhatsApp, phone, or email communications. Write to us at support@tutorhive.in and we will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies (via Google Analytics and Google Ads) to understand site usage and measure ad performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
